Pioneering projects tipped to be the businesses of tomorrow have been unveiled in the first wave of finalists to be announced by Converge in its 2025 competition.
This year’s Converge competition has been described as the most competitive to date, with more than 300 applicants across 19 universities narrowed down to a first wave of finalists representing 12 institutions. Projects span sectors including quantum computing, biotechnology, engineering, life sciences, sustainability and the creative industries − all with a focus on human-centred innovation.

As a finalist, FTE CEO Amy will now receive tailored business training before progressing to the Converge Awards on Thursday, October 2 at Prestonfield House Hotel in Edinburgh. Winners and runners-up will be announced at a ceremony attended by university principals, senior academics, business leaders and investors.
