Chinchpada Christian Hospital (CCH) is dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable healthcare to those who need it most. With a legacy of service spanning decades since its establishment in 1942, we combine clinical excellence with compassionate care to transform lives.
CCH offers a unique opportunity for students and professionals to gain hands-on experience in a resource-limited setting. From general and specialist clinical services to community health programs and research initiatives, every placement is a journey of learning and growth. Recent developments include state-of-the-art ICU facilities and a growing focus on community-based palliative care.
For those seeking an enriching elective, CCH provides an immersive experience in general clinical practice, community visits and research. Participants can engage in ongoing research projects, such as studies on sickle cell anemia. Join us to make a difference, learn from seasoned professionals, and grow both personally and professionally.
Students participate in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, community outreach programs, and, when applicable, operation theatre sessions. Daytime attendance is expected (8am to 5pm), with flexibility for additional learning opportunities during emergencies.
Elective students will work under the supervision of experienced doctors ( A Physician or a Surgeon) who are always available onsite or on call. Mentorship is provided to ensure a safe and enriching learning environment.

Chinchpada Christian Hospital is located in the mainly tribal Western Khandesh region of Maharashtra state. Established in 1942, the hospital has served many generations of people, saving lives in a holistic manner. Initially founded as a small clinic by Dr. Klokke of The Evangelical Alliance Mission, it was later upgraded to a 15-bed hospital. With the arrival of Dr. Ormond Uptigrove, a Canadian surgeon, in 1961, it became a full-fledged surgical hospital. The hospital was incorporated into Emmanuel Hospital Association in 1976.
CCH exists to provide low-cost, ethical care to the people of the Western Khandesh region, with a special focus on addressing health challenges specific to the tribal populations of the area. The hospital operates in Nandurbar, an administrative district in the northwest corner of Maharashtra, bordered by Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. The district spans 5035 km² and is predominantly rural, with only 15.45% of the population living in urban areas.
