Medical Elective Open Calls Are Back!

Join Us on 17 September for the First Session of the 2027 Cycle

Fair Trade Electives is opening its doors for the 2027 elective cycle and our Student Open Call sessions are back to help you plan your medical elective. The first session is Wednesday 17 September, 5:30–6:30pm — a short online introduction to Fair Trade Electives our elective options for 2027, and how to put yourself forward for a Funded Elective Award.

If you’re a UK-based clinical medical student curious about medical elective placement with one of our partner institutions across Africa and Asia, this is the best place to start.

What we’ll cover

Each session gives you a short, practical overview of:

  • How Fair Trade Electives works, and what makes our placements different
  • The elective options available with our partner institutions for 2027
  • Our Funded Elective Award, worth up to £1,500 towards elective fees
  • Our new Widening Access Elective Award, launching for 2027 and open to students recognised as Widening Access by their university
