We are delighted to announce the official launch of Fair Trade Electives at Dundee Medical School on 21st January 2025.
This launch marks a significant milestone in our journey and is a particularly meaningful one. Our model builds on the strong foundations laid by Dundee’s longstanding Responsible Electives programme, which has shaped our thinking around ethical, reciprocal global health placements. We are proud to carry that vision forward.
As of May 2025, five international host sites are ready to welcome students, with three more coming on board in the months ahead. Collectively, these hosts already facilitate over 500 elective placements per year, and we are working closely with each of them to embed fair trade principles and ensure mutual benefit for all involved.
